What I do
Senior Financial Analyst, BRF
Why I moved away
“Katrina had happened in 2005 and the person I was dating at the time had the opportunity to do a temporary assignment in DC. Things were pretty rough in Louisiana, post-Katrina, shortly thereafter, and so it was one of those … the opportunity presented itself. Post Katrina was a rough time. We said, ‘Let's go.’ Unfortunately, a natural disaster kind of encouraged us to go see what other opportunities were out there … Unbeknownst to me at the time, moving out of Louisiana absolutely catapulted my career. That was never the intention. It was just an amazing benefit that ended up coming from all of that.”
Why I moved back
“I missed home and what all that means: family, friends – that familiarity, you know – crawfish, the simple things. While being Corporate Barbie, if you will, was all fun and games, I just was ready to be back in something that I was a little more familiar with. I missed home, period.”
